What is the Virtual Attendee Option?

Does your university continue to restrict your travel budget? We offer an option that will allow participants to make the conference come to them! The virtual attendee option provides the opportunity for individuals and institutions to attend select sessions of the conference via live webcast services.

A selection of sessions will be broadcast live, including the keynote and plenary sessions, featured sessions, select information sessions, and key vendor showcase sessions.  On-demand access of all recorded sessions is provided to onsite and virtual attendees post-conference for one year.  

Why choose the virtual attendee option?
  • On-demand access to all recorded sessions is provided to onsite and virtual attendees post-conference for one year.  To access streamed sessions, participants need to be logged in at onlinelearningconsortium.org.
  • Participate despite schedule or budget restraints.  If your schedule or budget does not allow for the trip or your institution does not support travel outside of your state, the virtual attendee option provides a full-scale online experience.
  • Virtual schedule provides excellent breadth and depth of the program offered. Selected sessions to be live broadcast include the keynote and plenary sessions,  featured sessions, select information sessions, and key vendor showcase sessions.  Select workshops are also available via live broadcast.
  • View live webcast or on-demand recordings.  Onsite and virtual option attendees have access to on-demand recordings of the sessions for up to one year post-conference at no additional cost.  No need to re-arrange your schedule to view a particular session...access the recording at your leisure!
  • New for 2015: Virtually participate in Discovery Sessions. Discovery session presenters will be encouraged to upload their presentation materials to VoiceThread, where virtual participants can view and comment on these sessions.
  • Be a true participant of the conference. Special attention is paid to integrate the onsite event with the virtual event. Virtual attendees will be able to post questions in each session and participate in discussions via our OLC Facebook Group.  We also invite all virtual participants to Tweet their comments on sessions using our Twitter hashtag #olc15.

*If your group is purchasing a Group Virtual Package, the designated Group Manager must purchase this package first.  Upon completion of this package registration, the Group Manager will receive the allotted number of package participant coupon codes to assign and distribute to each participant in their group. Each participant will then register themselves as an "Individual" Virtual Attendee and enter their unique package participant coupon code.

 

Refund Policy

Refund requests must be made in writing. Refunds will be issued less a $75 administrative/cancellation fee for registrations, and a $25 cancellation fee is charged for workshops.

  • Cancellation by September 14: Refund of payment minus a $75 cancellation fee
  • September 15 - October 7: Credit memo issued for registration and optional items minus $75 cancellation fee. Credit memos can be used toward future OLC conference and are transferable.
  • October 8 - October 14: (Within 1 week of the conference) Credit memo issued for 50% of REGISTRATION FEE ONLY, minus $75 cancellation fee. There will be NO Refunds for ticketed items including lunch tickets or special event tickets.

Disney Ticket Swap or Sell: Within 1 week of the conference (beginning Oct 8) there are no ticket refunds or exchanges. If you have purchased a special event ticket for Thursday evening you may swap or sell these on your own through Twitter #OLCTIXSWAP. OLC is not involved in these transactions and is not responsible for these communications.

If you are not able to attend, a substitute may attend in your place. The name and email address of the substitute must be emailed to The Online Learning Consortium. If you do not attend the program and do not submit a written refund request, The Online Learning Consortium will retain all fees. The Online Learning Consortium is not responsible for any change / cancellation charges assessed by airlines, travel agents, hotels or other similar vendors.
