Abstract

Using innovative assistive learning technologies for learners with disabilities accommodates blended and inclusive learning, student engagement, and active participation on multiple levels.

Extended Abstract

What about learners with limitations? What innovative technologies are out there that might help blend different learning styles and accommodate different physical or cognitive abilities? Showcased in this presentation are technologies addressing various disabilities. Educators unfamiliar with ADA compliant technologies will have the opportunity to see and discuss some of these technologies. This is an interactive, learn and share session focusing on two categories the Individuals with Disabilities Act Amendment defines as assistive technology: devices and services. This presentation will concentrate on mobile devices and apps for learners of various ages and abilities. The list of apps presented by the presenter will be provided to attendees. BYOD and share your stories!
